Isaac Shearman 1803 Family Bible:  Isaac Shearman (born 1788) was a son of Humphrey Shearman and Mercy Lapham.  The Bible was published in 1803, it was probably purchased by Isaac after his marriage (in 1910), in 1913.  The first clearly dated entry (for Humphrey Shearman) is 1813.  The birth of Mehetabel (1812) is listed after the 1813 birth, all other births appear in chronological order.

The Bible passed to Isaac Shearman’s son Seth Sherman (born 1827).  Seth’s family then passed the Bible on to Martha W. Case of Jamestown, New York, a granddaughter of Mehetable Shearman.
[Source:  Affidavit of Matha W. Case circa August, 1928 and letter from her brother Alfred B. Case dated July 14, 1929. – Records are deposited with the Sons of the American Revolution archives (California)].

Martha M. Case appears to have died in the 1960’s and the Bible passed on to the possession of Harold E. Colburn of Plymouth, California.  Harold died in 1988 and the Bible was passed to Nan Colburn Wolf of Turlock, California (circa 2000).
