The first Zeppelin raid on Great Britain

Map location.  On January 19, 1915 the Zeppelin L3 raids the town of Great Yarmouth dropping ten bombs.  Two people in the Saint Peter’s Plain area die.  Martha Taylor and Samuel Smith are both killed by the fourth bomb that is dropped.

Allied forces land in Gallipoli (Turkey)

Turkey

An Ottoman Empire battle site of World War I.  British Empire forces, aided by France attack and invade the strategic waterway that connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Black Sea.  The Ottoman Empire forces defend the Dardanelles and the surrounding ground with the aid of Germany.  115,000, 56,000 on each side, die.

August 5, 1915: Germany captures Warsaw (the Polish capital) from Russian forces.
September 25, 1915: Start of the Battle of Loos
December 19, 1915:
the Allies begin their evacuation of Gallipoli. The campaign is a disaster and more than 44,000 Allied soldiers are killed.
